10-MINUTE OPERAS

SPIKE 150 OPERA PREMIERES: On Monday, May 20, The Salt Lake Opera Company is coming to the Fine Arts Center to premiere four “10 minute operas” commissioned to commemorate the wedding of the rails. These Opera vignettes include set props and choreography with songs being performed by Utah Opera Resident Artists. They all have master’s degrees in vocal performance, and are young energetic opera professionals in the early years of their professional careers, who are hired to also inspire school children in the art of opera. Sponsored in part by Spike 150 and Excellence in the Community, there is no admission fee for this exciting program, but seating is limited and reservations are recommended. Tickets for seating can be reserved at utahopera.org/scheduling/Cultural festival. The doors will open at 7 Pm and the program starts at 7:30 pm.
